Artist Statement:

A life filled with a passion for color, texture and textiles led directly to the vast possibilities within the genres of the art quilt and surface design. Immeasurable are the challenges and joys that spring from blank fabric being transformed into a visual and tactile work of art that often contains a hidden or explicit message. Thus, I greet each day anew with dye pot, paint brush, brilliant threads and fibers in hand while a trusty sewing machine awaits my beck and call.

About Beyond the Edge Fiber Artists

Who are we?

Beyond the Edge artists have a passion for incorporating fiber in their creative works. Our artistry is expressed through a wide spectrum of styles, techniques and materials, hence the name, "Beyond the Edge". Membership in Beyond the Edge Fiber Artists is invitational. New Members are added through a juried process.

This is our Mission Statement:

A group of professional Southern California artists came together to form Beyond the Edge Fiber Artists. Meetings are bi-monthly for the purpose of exploring a wide spectrum of styles, techniques and materials, as well as discussing opportunities to increase awareness of fiber arts as fine arts. Goals include exhibiting in diverse local, national and international venues for the purpose of creating an art bridge with the viewer by reflecting the common human experience.
