Artist Statement:
My quilts are a
testimony of my personal journey and a metaphor for my life. Quilting is the vehicle that allows me
to share with the viewer the beauty that I feel in everyday life. I have encountered a colorful journey
from a variety of life experiences and my emotional response is presented in my
work. When designing my pieces, I feel directed to walk by faith, not by
sight. I am an instrument
and my creations are my ministry. My
quilts are born from an urge to make a statement about the goods things in
life. I am motivated by
messages that promote positive uplifting thoughts, provide a moral compass, and
comfort the soul.
I am stimulated by lots of color,
ethnic textiles and a combination of many techniques such as patchwork,
embroidery, appliqué, painting, quilting and beading. The finest attention is given to
workmanship details. My
aspiration is for my art quilts to transform you to a place of peace and
tranquility.
